... were quite okay and we at least found a standing table to eat at.

Off on Route I 66 W to Front Royal for the night. It is the second Saturday in October - Festival of Leaves as well as being the first day of the long weekend for Columbus Day. The Quality Inn did not inspire us and the helpful lady at the visitors centre suggested some others. Super 8 was booked out and I think we have one of the last rooms at Cool Harbor. ...

... round trip. It was nice to get out and hike as we hadn't done much in the last few weeks. I really needed it as the Amish Baked goods had done a number on me:))
We also drove several miles along the Skyline and enjoyed the beautiful views.

We have been on the road over 100 days and are really enjoying our trip. Hope to be home the first of October unless we see some place else we have to go.

And remember -- Life is Good!!

The next few miles were a blur, cloudy, light rain, another Ring-neck snake, a medium sized Black Rat snake, and a weird day hiker, that - after I told him about the snake ahead- said "That is dope, you know, just what I came out here for." ...........yea, that is dope, about as dope as you Nike socks pulled up over your knees, with long shorts on.......maybe I just don't know what fashion is tho?? After saying goodbye to him, we hit up the shelter to ...
