... down to Lynmouth. This is an extraordinary contraption built in 1887-90 over a 150m fall in elevation on a slope of 1:1.75, and 258m in length. Not sure how it compares with Scenic Railway at Katoomba but similar in concept. Luckily we have a great friend picking us in the morning in Iain to ensure we get to the airport on time. I have ...

... is mostly farmed with plenty of villages inside it. Quite different to NP in NZ or Australia. Drove along some lovely narrow, but picturesque roads with high hedges on either side, and through some small villages. Climbed steadily to the high land that Dartmoor is known for. First stop was Princetown where the Dartmoor Prison is. Went to the museum that explained the history of the prison, built between 1806 and 1809, originally to house prisoners of war from France and America. ...

Gareth has now set sail from Plymouth at approximately 4pm. All feeling a little bit nervous today as the reality hits. Managed just about to get all of our stuff in the car. Fully loaded but we did it. Tomorrow is the beginning of a new era , very very excited. Enjoyed a full on day with the boys and Granny in ...
