    ... do a trolley tour of the area tomorrow. It rained all morning, so wandered off on foot just before midday. Firstly, followed a sign that said the beaches, but after a while it was apparent that the beaches were some distance away. Decided we would do these by car on our way out tomorrow.     ... the road to Daytona.

    We stopped for a last look at the ocean and now are on our way home.

    We crossed the bridge over the Mantazas River and could see the Yacht Club on one side and St. Augustine College on the other side.

    This has been another fun family time. Where to next year??? Time will tell.

    ... Charles, Bob and I went to McDonalds for dessert and had hot fudge sundaes. Perfect ending to our dinner. Some of the "kids" are going to play putt-putt and some are going on a ghost tour. Sounds like fun. After ice cream, we went back to the hotel to sit on the balcony in Tricia's room. Forgot to mention that when we checked in, they got our room with the ocean view.....  Sitting on the balcony was fun but it is time for bed. ...

    ... America freezes quietly. Temps here dropped into the 40s (F) about 5C, which is tollerable as long as you have socks and shoes, and are wearing three layers of man made petroleum based gear. Reservatrions were not necessary as all of Florida stayed home and shiverred. We were forced on day 2 and 3 in St. Augustine to retire from the patio of the Tini Martini and sup our pre diner bevvies indoors. Three nice meals out at the A1A, ...
