... to Maine afterwards. I felt like visiting a lighthouse in the snow, which I managed to find.

As you can easily take from the pictures – it’s still winter here. Cold, icy, but sunny and clear. You know me, I don’t mind that weather pattern, I rather hope, it’s going to stay like that for a while – I don’t even want to imagine how muddy it will be, once the snow melts.

Well then, stay tuned!

Had a perfect travel day yesterday. Actually got away early, 8:45, and had beautiful cold clear weather all day. It was only once we got close to Portland that we saw any snow at all and there it was only deep in the bush. But shortly after we stopped for the night the snow started. It looks like we got about 3" overnight. Luckily we're heading south! Had great Chinese food last night. Who knew we'd find it in Maine! Here's what morning looked like - winter ...

New Years Eve in Boston

New Years Eve was a lovely day, travelling down the coast, with the aim of arriving in Boston early evening. We visited Kennebunkport and a neighbouring village, both very cute little seaside towns, lots of money evident there. Kennebunkport is where Clinton has a house, so you can imagine!

Note to selves: when returning to Boston, on New Years Eve, and your hotel is on the Times Square of Boston, it is not the best idea to try to drive to the ...

... The waitress was lovely and funny which made the night even better. 'There isn't a starch I've met that I didn't like'.... the menu sides included fingerling potatoes, fries, roast potatoes, rice, potato salad and mashed potato! They were the only options for sides... no vegetables or anything. Just starch. I had TWIN lobsters for tea! 2 whole lobsters for $37! 2 lobsters steamed are only about 300 calories! Dad you really would love the lobster!! So ...
