    ... It was really interesting to look at all the Greek islands we were passing by on the way. A lot were not populated but they were gorgeous. Big pointy mountains coming right out of the sea. It was also formal night which was a lot of fun to see everyone dressed up. We spent a lot of time taking pictures and then went to the dining hall for a late diner.     ... of the ruins have been covered up by his reconstruction of what the Minoan palace might have looked like. There are several legends associated with the Minoans and the palace of Knossos. One of them is about the Minotaur, a man with the head of a bull who was kept trapped inside an elaborate labyrinth by the Minoan king.     ... the Academy of Athens, The National Library & the University of Athens (to be truthful they all looked similar so we are unsure as to which was which). Another beautiful building was the Agios Dionysis Areopagitis Catholic Cathedral. We then stopped off for some delicious frozen yoghurt with all sorts of toppings, before heading to look at the Little Metropolis Church.

    Did our own thing in Athens today. Caught the bus from the ship to the Acropolis stop and walked less than 5 minutes to the site. Hot and sunny so glad we got here fairly early, at 10:30. Lots of people around but no lineups.

    After spending 90 minutes seeing the Acropolis, we walked through the Plaka - cobblestones made of marble, no cars, lots of stores and restaurants. Stopped for a Greek lunch....spanakopita, saganaki.

    Our car service picked us up 8.30am for our 3 hour flight to Athens at 12.15pm. Our driver Raz was telling us it's his 2nd job as he has two sons in university.
