Off again by 0800 and on the road back to Estonia. After stopping to change money and pick up lunch for the ferry we headed to the 30 minute ferry crossing from Virtsu to Muhu island. Getting on with the rest of the day consisted of initially doing the laundry. The washing machine had broken down here so we had no choice other than, peasant style, do the washing in the showers, pummelling the sheets and sundry items of clothing against the shower tiles (very clean of course and of course, initially checked for same) whilst getting an additional shower ourselves. ... there were no restaurants, shops or indeed anything much here. Instead, we had crab pâté and small gherkins on crackers as canapés with a bottle of chilled Latvian 'champagne’ followed by roast pork with vegetables and we were too full for a pudding, apart from a small whisky and some chocolate with our coffees.
