10am and we are off to Durham to see my dearest sister. It's a beautiful day to drive the 300 odd miles. I couldn't believe how many different sets are roadworks there are..with 40 & 50 mph limits its slowing us down! We saw two red kites over Oxford, and just after Doncaster there were six windmills. In France you see them in blocks of ten or more. Why is everything in the service stations so much more expensive? In the Road chef, at Tibshelf North, we had ...

Had a good flight, good landing, fast through passport control, luggage arrived quickly, met with car by Emma's parents, got down to Southampton quickly in time for 9am ferry - it's Cowes week so ferries are very busy - told to wait until 11am! No joy in persuading otherwise. Oh the joy of living on on Island - western Kenya to Southampton no delays - Southampton to Isle of Wight....... Anyway eventually they must have taken pity on us and we got on 10am - thank you Red Funnel! Happy ...

... to avoid the dreaded jet lag. We arrived back home at 9pm.
Our brilliant trip finally over. We have slept in 20 different beds, travelled on 7 different ferries, taken 8 flights and travelled 52,953 kilometres or 32,903 miles.
We feel very fortunate to have met so many lovely people and visited so many amazing places. Now we have to start thinking about the next trip!

... was no issue with the knife in the case. Go figure. We lounged around our cabin (I wanted to use the last bit of internet available), and we were ****** off. The cabin is larger than we had been expecting, with loads of pillows and a great view. There is a big bed (two singles zipped together) too! An emergency exercise was timetabled, so we waited in our cabin until that - tedious but necessary. Once we had returned our life jackets to our ...
