... On the way down the mountain, there are a few lookouts into Resolution Bay, the water was an amazing aquamarine colour, that was so clear and when we got near the bottom we could hear the waves gently lapping on the shore. We had to remind ourselves that this is the sea.

The greenery changes quite a bit, the lower levels are full of tree ferns, with fronds extending outwards of 6-8 feet, that would provide perfect dapple shade in the garden, and other ...

However I had to make to way to South Africa for my next big adventure so I can't complain really. Eglantine, our vintage winemaker, also had to leave on the same day as me to get to California for a job (the glamorous world of winemaking!!) so we had a couple of goodbye parties at each of our houses to make up for it. On our last day I learned about ...

... time for two more stops, firstly at Gelsen Wines, a vineyard run by three brothers. We purchased a small bottle of Merlot for the end of our Abel Tasman trek, and a bottle of Sauvignon too. Here we bumped into Jackie and Lizzie, who had made friends along the way with another girl (in the sober light of day we really can't remember her name!) The five of us made Wairaku River just in time for a quick tasting and to pick up a bottle of their ...
