... stopped the boat for us to enjoy the sunset. They served champagne and took pictures of another beautiful Hawaiian sunset.
One we reached the harbor, I noticed that my face, arm, and legs were coated with sea salt. It was a very good day on the water. It brought back memories of the time we spent on our boat on area lakes. We loved every minute of it.

... literally bumper to bumper, stop and go, traffic that took us about an hour to travel 10 miles. According to the local newspaper, folks who live in that vicinity say they simply don't go out between 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m due to that traffic. Wish we'd had a choice.... A quick stop in Lihue at Costco netted us some steak to cook for supper, our second use of the excellent outdoor gas grilling facilities at the condos.

... if he was alive, the woman attending him told us that this was "perfectly normal behavior" for them and he was just taking a nap on the shore. A few steps further down the line was a GIANT sea turtle relaxing and swimming in the shallow surf. From there it was off to Waimea where we began the trek up to Waimea canyon. Majestic. Beautiful. ... was a blow hole through the lava rock formations. There were toilets there as well as a little market place with everyone selling pretty much the same things however I spied some lovely shell necklaces and snapped up one of them … very attractive pattens and nice sizes.
The area around Poipu Beach has a beautiful golf course and some lovely houses - the newer ones on the beach front are $Millions !!
