        Ke'e beach and Kalalau Trail

        Ke'e beach is about a 15 minute drive from the hotel. It is also the trail head for Kalalau trail. It is a 2 mile hike to Hanakapi'ai beach. Truth be told we should have stopped here. However we went another 2 miles to Hanakapi'ai falls. It was a very strenuous hike for the second two miles. Most of the trail is rocks. There are also multiple streams to cross...balancing from one rock to another. We kept going ...

        ... that went again along the stunning North Coast, and then out to Nihau Island for some of the best snorkeling I have done. There was a wall that dropped from 20 to 120 feet into the deep blue - a la Finding Nemo. The ridges were lined with fish. The visibility was like air. The three of us were among the last back up on the boat once the snorkel time was over. The only person behind us was Dagwood.

        ... down to feel the temperature of the water. It brought back memories of Red Dirt from our last trip to Kauai. I had red knees for a while.

        Attached are a number of pictures from our trip. You may note that Sheila and I are getting pretty good at selfies. Now we are getting a little silly.

        Tomorrow will be pool, ocean, and the game.

        ... I had the seafood chowder and then the New York strip steak with a mushroom sauce, baked potato and sour cream and beans. It was lush, in fact it was the most healthiest meal I ate all cruise which is bad! Andrew had the garlic stuffed mushrooms and then the grilled pork chop with apple sauce, mashed potato and spinach. Dessert was coconut soufflé and Andrew had cheesecake which tasted a bit non. We ordered a glass each of Joseph Phelps ...
