We arose at a reasonable time and got ourselves out and on the street early enough to catch the 'red line' trolley bus that would take us downtown. We were on a mission, which was to eventually reach the Aloha Marketplace, one of our favourite places to visit in the past. Lots of cafes, restaurants, quirky shops and bookstores. Quite alternative. There is a real bohemian aspect to it. Also a lot of poverty and apparent mental illness. You cannot escape or ignore the homeless of the city - they are everywhere. I said to Paul 'there must be something very ...

The day started with Marty and I having breakfast in bed. Sounds like fun? Let me tell you what we had. The day before, we made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. We had 2 left over. Plus we had some pineapple chunks left from the buffet dinner. So, that was our gourmet breakfast in bed.

We knew we had a full day ahead of us, so, we threw on our bathing suits and went to the beach for a couple of hours. The water ...
