That being said, Hearst had no qualms about inviting famous guests to stay at what he called "The Ranch". Guests included Bob Hope, Calvin Coolidge, Cary Grant, Charles Lindbergh, Charlie Chaplin, Clark Gable, Franklin Roosevelt, Greta Garbo, Jimmy Stewart, Joan Crawford, the Marx Brothers and Winston Churchill. It's a simple pix with beautiful sunrise (sunset?) in the background of a stretching dock. I only thought of Morro Bay as one of the pit stop places between N. Ca and S. CA. Not until I read the history book of Morro Bay in San Diego History Museum did I know that the place is famous for a rock.

I’m pretty sure we made it back to the RV—Barbara says around 4:30. I think I had dinner. I must have gone to bed at some point, because I woke up in the morning in bed with an ice bag on my head and cuddling a bottle of cabernet.

All-in-all, it was a great way to cap off the trip. I wish I could remember more of ...
