... we exit the airport and our driver is standing there holding a sign saying "PHIL ESCAYOLA". He immediately asks if I speak spanish and most of the conversation continues in Spanish - although Sabrina says a few times she doesn't speak it. I don't know if they are so happy not to have stupid american tourists, it's a treat to have someone speak spanish...? Anyway he brings us to our van, and the drive to our resort starts. ... reggae beach bar. I thought I had died and gone to heaven table right on the beach. Cheese burger and fries with a beer. Topped off wiv reggae music. YEAH MAN. ... lots of fruits to munch on. I even had an egg sandwich I had made at breakfast for the trip. :) We had a good time driving down the highway and noticed a lot of different shops, etc. That's definitely something you wouldn't normally see if on a tour bus. The road was so easy to drive since the signs are just huge! We followed it Tulum and made a u-turn at one of the Retorno's.... It's very interesting how they have these turn around spots ...
