... 1.5 miles to the Pfeiffer State Park. Michael and Jacob stayed and hiked the mountain while Christian, Drew and I drove south on Hwy 1 to Hearst Castle. The drive was scenic and hair raising. The sharp turns and cliff views were enough to literally take your breath away. Every bit of it was worth it too. We made a quick stop to see the elephant seals basking in the sun at the Vista Point. ... br> As we waddled back to the Jeep we saw a sign, Back Room Wines. We read on the door that they have wine tasting for $10.00. On Friday’s they have wine tasting for wines with prices under $15…I think that sounds like fun…Harlan says those will give us a headache….but aren’t we into low priced wines? Saturday we can taste wines from wineries that don’t have tasting rooms. I’ll have to campaign for this one.

We started our trip with a night at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. It's a nice place up on Nob Hill. Hung out in China town for the evening which is always fun. As the morning came the busses brought us to the pier to board the ship. We met up with friends from past cruises. There are more people here that we know than we knew were coming so that's nice.
