We landed in jo'burg the 7th December, and went to stay with jodes and paulo for the night, and finally got to meet my gorgeous nephew!! Day started with heading to Honeydew at 7:30am to see how the store opens. The hotel desk has unreliable information, and when she appears the OAT rep tends to blame the hotel staff for having inaccurate information, when it is clearly her responsibility to make this process go smoothly. ... things to be much cheaper than in Australia. It was fun to be back in a more familiar type of environment - to a degree. Although most of the shoppers were well-dressed whites, all the serving staff were black. One lady did tell us that Johannesburg does get an unfair reputation due to the bad press. She was black! However, I do realise that there are two sides to the story.
