... and I went to bed very happy.

We woke up to an yet another amazing meal. This time it was a delicious breakfast of poached egg in a cup of white toast - under the poached egg, was Canadian bacon and the bearnaise sauce was on top. If that wasn't enough, there was bacon on the side!

We awoke feeling much better on Thursday and headed to the Cliff Walk. This is basically a sanctioned 3.5 mile sticky beak with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and huge mansions aligning the cliff face on the other.

Most of these mansions were constructed in the so called Gilded Age of 1880 to 1920. A period when Newport was at the height of its industrial wealth. As well as being a favourite summer locale for ...

... and a beer at... you guessed it... the local irish pub round the corner. As a surprise, they had bingo on, so to supplement our meals amd conversation, we had something to pay minimal attention to. That was until i scored bingo first round, and earned myself a free shot. We were pretty into it after that, but the lucky of the irish never came through! After an hour or 2 we headed back to the apartment, chilled, talked and laughed until captain snooze took over and i retired to my ...
