... the Mist, as if I ever do it again from the Canadian side it will be a different company. After the boat ride, I headed up to the Sheridan for our buffet style dinner on the 13th level with some awesome views (thinking about it I forgot to take some photos from up there). After my meal, I then headed up one of the streets to do some shopping, I wanted a shirt and a keyring. It's amazing to see how commercial this street was with a little the ...

Next we happen upon the famous Royal York Hotel which is now the Fairmont Royal York (it is one of the buildings being renovated here). This is where the sidewalk seems to end for construction. “Now what?” I ask Jim. “Let’s just see. There has to be a way to get across. Maybe this way,” he points to his left to a walkway that will take us to the opposite side ...

The next day it was still really hot so after a brief tube ride to have a look at the very old (1912) Casa Loma, which is like someone built a Disney castle on a hill overlooking Toronto, we headed out to the Islands. These are a short ferry ride from downtown and are a little bit cooler as they are out in the lake and are just parkland ...

The ride from Toronto to Niagara Falls on the Megabus took around an hour and half.
Mom and I walked along the Falls and also looked at the various shops/attractions. We had lunch at Burger King.
I would say that this is the third time that I have visited Niagara Falls. I have enjoyed my visits but do not really care if I visit this place again in this lifetime. It is something to see ...

Historical Traveler Reviews John's Gate Bed and Breakfast Niagara-on-the-Lake
Hospitality, wonderful food, and exquisite comfort second to none!
Have stayed in many B&B'S in Europe but none in North America. We were not disappointed. This was our anniversary. Meheroo, our hostess who attends to every detail of this meticulous home, even supplied champagne and orange juice for a toast at breakfast. She booked dinners for both nights. I don't know if it was her doing, but we got a prime table, in front of the fireplace at Peller Estates for the Saturday night. Location is excellent. The breakfasts were wonderful. My husband would have preferred bacon and eggs, but I disagree. All in all, it was a memorable anniversary at JOHN'S GATE and we hope to return.
Fantastic! Highly Recommended!
My wife and I had a truly pleasurable Anniversary, whilst staying at this comfortable, immaculate and tastefully decorated B & B. Our hostess sent us on our way the next day fortified with a hearty breakfast which was cooked to perfection. To add a foot-note, Sue our carriage driver was excellent as well, a carriage ride is a must do for visitors to Niagara-on-the-Lake!
John's Gate is a terrific place for a getaway. It is very clean, as well as warm and inviting. Our hostess cooked a delicious selection of food for breakfast and entertained us with her stories and jokes. I would highly recommend John's Gate!
More than a home from home
We stayed at this lovely B & B in September 2002 and were made very welcome. The food was great and plenty of - which for a Scotsman is a very important thing. Our hosts invited us to use the lounge at any time we wished, we could even bring home a bottle of wine which they would open for us. Extremely comfortable and welcoming surroundings. So good we have booked up for this November for a second visit.
Best B&B in Niagara-on-the-lake
We recently stayed at the John's Gate B&B (7/25-7/27/03) and are writing you to say how much we enjoyed our stay. We were pampered and served the most outstanding breakfasts you could have ever dreamed of receiving. The service was exceptional. The accommodations are attractive, scrupulously clean and the extra touches to make us feel especially cared for were wonderful. We have stayed at many B&B's and we rate John's Gate as second to none. We do recommend it to our friends and acquaintances. We hope you will pass along our review of John's Gate to anyone looking for the BEST B&B in Niagara-on-the-Lake.Sincerely, Jackie and Earl Wolf
Short get away
We went to Niagara on the Lake for a quiet escape and found it at John's Gate. The house was inviting and immaculate. There were fresh flowers in our room as promised and a wonderful breakfast was served on beautiful plates. Coffee was available for early risers. Meheroo made reservations for us at a lovely inn for dinner and offered us a coupon for a small discount on our meal. The whole experience was delightful and Niagara on the Lake is a must see.
A Comfortable Place To Stay
Nice Clean Place, Great Food & Hostess. The only negative was the no shoes upstairs rule, that got old quick. Has some great package deals that include activities in the area, these packages are an awesome value.
Johnsgate Bed & Breakfast was so great we extended our stay in the Niagara-On-the-Lake area. Our host went out of her way to give us an exceptional service. The property itself was impeccable! Extremely comfortable and clean. The food quality was exceptional....very good breakfast.Recommended highly....
Well worth visiting
This was our first experience with a Bed and Breakfast. Our hostess was fantastic. She made our stay both comfortable and welcoming. Meheroo attended to every detail which would make guests feel welcome and appreciated. The breakfasts were unsurpassed, and our rooms immaculate. one could not expect mare from a hostess. To end, we will definately reserve a room at Jonsgate when we visit Niagara On the Lake in the fiture. Thank you Meheroo.
