Woke up early and went out to riverfront patio with my book & some excellent coffee from the Best Western lobby. Peaceful with pretty view... except for when train went by below, along the river. Three passed by in less than an hour & 2 went on the Washington side of the river.

... elevator, and indirect lighting. The home, now owned by the City, is situated high on a hillside, 1,000 feet above downtown Portland and is open to the public. Each of the rooms have views overlooking Portland. The tour is very informative about the family and about life at the turn of the century. Members of the family lived there until 1958.
