... neighbors' 40th Anniversary celebration. All the neighbors turned out - some old, some new, some borrowed ... but I digress. A good time was had by all. Jim and Gayle and Mom Nancy put on a great party. Lots of good food. Then, back to Schmidts for a wonderful boat ride. So nice. Up tomorrow for the rest of our journey home

Drove down from Grand Rapids to Gun Lake. Moved into Jim and Jean's cottage at the Lake, in her family forever. Perfect place to recover from jet lag/persistent cough, and get WARM. Traveled from DC to Michigan in two days, hit lots of rain and bad weather on most of the trip. We stopped here so we can take the RV into General RV on Monday morning to see about get the slide fixed, they will most likely need to order parts so once they see what they need to repair it we will head up to Indigo and return when they have the parts to get it fixed. ...

... I went to downtown Kalamazoo - which although very nice and seemly aimed at visitors, was pretty dead. I found a local campground just north of the city and set up my tent. I then went back into the city to buy some Bell's Brewery beer (a local brew) and to go food shopping. The store was expensive!

... Ohio and heard from the waitress that a big storm was coming.  While eating, it started snowing so we quickly finished and got back on the road.  I think we were just ahead of the storm all day. Finally, in southern Ohio, the storm clouds started to break and we began to see the sun.  It wasn't until we passed through West Virginia and into Virginia that we stopped seeing snow and we felt that we could relax. We arrived at Jen's in Concord, North Carolina around 8:30 ...
