Barney has been patiently watching and waiting to see a bald eagle since the day we started our road trip but despite starring hopefully at every large bird we've walked, driven or cycled past so far, his mission has been unsuccessful. But with less than 200km left to drive on our road trip, finally he saw one at an acceptably close distance that he could actually tell what it was. In fact he can now say he's seen multiple. Who knew we would drive 21,000km across Canada ...

... On Friday we headed off for a ferry ride so we could see Seattle from the bay. We got 100 yards from the hotel and turned back. The temperature had dropped considerably so we changed from shorts to trousers and also took a jacket. Apart from the day we left, our weather since leaving SF has been great.
