Yesterday we arrived, visiting former coworkers with us in Wuhan. It was a bright, sunny travel day all the way. It took us about eight hours to get there (after missing a turn), and a time change (Eastern Time is one hour later). We had a little scare on the way, running over a a tire shred, but no apparent effect to our driving. ...
... t in the backup described above. Altogether, a 5 hour drive took us 8 .5 hours.
Then, when we got to the hotel, we noticed that the ice chest was leaking water. Turns out the plug had not been put back in when we emptied out the water this morning. Had to practically unpack the van (not easy, since it was piled full of souvenirs) and put up the seat to dry it out.

So we decided to go back to the rotunda, West Baden.

... if in the Cincinnati area.
I also cheated and took the beltway around Cincinnati rather than route 50 through the city. It was rush hour and would not have been good for my disposition.
The rivers are full and running brown from all of the run off. There is a flash flood watch for this area until tomorrow evening
Have been goiing through corn fields most of the afternoon. It is tall and tassled
