So today we only have 40 days till we leave for Europe. Tonight is our last night in our first place together, and driving to work this morning, it just hit me how real this is all feeling right now. Last time driving to work from the shore and I only have 14 working days left, which is three weeks of work. Then just 2 weeks till we leave. I slept much more soundly knowing that I would not be jumping off a bridge the next morning! Ryan and I lounged in our open air condo while Mom and Doug toured Queen's Street. ... realised what a bank holiday was like here. Everyone was leaving Auckland but luckily we were going into the city. It is Waitangi day when they celebrate the signing of the treaty with the Maoris. Considering the Maoris are less than happy with the treaty now it's a little insensitive celebrating this event but I don't think Maoris have ever been know to turn down a day off so they have to bite their tongues. ...

... means that the entire island is indigenous flora and fauna (that's so awesome!!) We spent the day hiking- going up up up the mountain! Taking only a small detour to go check out some lava caves. The caves were awesome, though one worried me because you had to crawl- thankfully the group decided to pass on that one! But we did walk and squat our way through another cave as that was absolutely awesome, despite getting dripped on :) a few minutes later we were at the top of the mountain! ...
