... it wasn't very interesting so we switched to music on Pandora. Surprisingly we didn't hit any traffic except for an accident on Rt 77 in North Carolina when the traffic was bumper to bumper for about 1/2 hour from Mooresville to Davidson. We arrived back home in Sun City about 11:30.

Overall we drove 1601.9 miles.

... take a number. While we were waiting we browsed the bakery cases trying to decide on which of the gorgeous looking pastries we should choose. We finally decided on a Cannoli and a Latte for Tom and a Cream Puff and Cappachino for me. Yummy and well worth the wait!

BTW, on the way we stopped to get some pictures of the Chandelier in the middle of Euclid Street that we couldn't get on our first day in ...

... would declare that 'this was their best album'. The Elvis exhibit and film was also a favorite of ours. He really was GORGEOUS!!!

My only disappointment was the display of the Inductees Signatures. It was in a narrow hallway after leaving the Inductees Film that wound around up to the next floor. Somehow it just wasn't as impressive as the Inductees Rotunda in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

... watch Brazil vs. Columbia. I ate at the Clevelander Bar and Grill, which had good food (and good wifi so I could post a blog entry). I met up with my former student, Tony Heintz, and we headed into the stadium.

Given the immensity of the crowd and the time it took to get in I didn't get much of a chance to walk the stadium. The concourse is half-open on the back side with large steel columns ...

... different shades of green. It must be something to see in the fall. Several times we went through tunnels dug right through the mountains.

West Virginia had more of the same beautiful scenery at the beginning, but became less mountainous and we saw lots of little mining towns along the highway. We passed right through Charleston, the capitol, and right by the Capitol Building which had a beautiful gold ...
