... After our travellers' lunch, cheese, bread, olives and apples, Jan slept and I began looking at places in Madrid and Valencia and the rail lines. The day broke through with sun, though still cold and we persisted with couch sitting, researching and booking Spain and Morroco. Music, a fire, and a veg and jambon dinner and some Bordeaux saw us out. Sally and Chris got back late, excited about a big old farm, still on the pilgrim trail, they had been shown and that they could ...

A day off has been declared

We realised that we are half way through this great adventure. Well within a day or so. The cold has taken possession of Jan, it's raining and it's cold. We are in a great house with Sally and Chris who mean "make yourself at home", old hippies know how to share. We walk up through the town, which is beginning to close down after summer boom time. There are amazing shapes to fit the location. Steep stairs everywhere. We walk to the top of the town and then through it to the other end to a tall, narrow chapel to Mary. The Mary cult was big in this area in ...

... the city at the tourist end & walked over. City built on a valley wall under another church. Caught the elevator down (and up). Walked through another church then along the city street, only one. Had a quiet drink in a café, I think a habit is forming. Back up to the top. Came back to the hotel for another quiet drink. Then to a restaurant for a pizza dinner. Great view overlooking the city all lit up. Another good day. GO THE BUNNIES.
