    ... there sits a small but very pretty lighthouse and an impressive fog bell. Nice country all the way with the architecture all not surprisingly typically Maine. There are some really beautiful homes right throughout this area and we are seeing it at a great time. Sharon and Lou (and Stitch and Natasha)have been great hosts. This has been a really relaxing stop on our trip. Time for lunch now ...

    ... to head into Camden, one of our favourite places in New England for a walk around. Camden just as pretty as we remember it. After a walk around town stopping into a number of the shops our guide Sharon takes us to a restaurant right on the water overlooking the harbour and two boxes are ticked, Clam chowder and a lobster sandwich.     ... the first time we have seen this. They certainly wouldn't be able to do this back home in our nanny state! We finally reached Searsport (just short of Belfast) under heavy pea soup fog - so much for coming here for the views! Checked into a cheap motel with a wifi connection that was almost non existent & useless. The only place open was the takeaway in the gas station across the road, so ate pretty poorly that night.     The Farnsworth Art Museum owns an extensive collection of work by generations of Wyeths (Andrew, James and N.C. Wyeth, the family patriarch who started it all when he settled in Maine in the 1920s). Special exhibits included contemporary works by American artists in sculpture, oil and watercolors.
