... we listened to some nice music, then listened to some rock and roll where we saw Noel and Jennifer, Lia and Nicholas,doing some pretty good rock and roll, nice to see. Then about 2230 it was off to bed.
What a massive day, full of nature, and certainly very memorable for us both.


Weather ; Superb day, no rain, small amount of sunshine, arvo was a little rainy while on the boat.

Three weeks of rehearsal finished.. this calls for a vacation! At least that's what it felt like to me! Because our cast has cruise staff duties to do on our ship, the company wanted us to shadow the current cruise staff on the Golden Princess (a Grand Class ship), and we had to get out of the country for legal reasons that are unnecessary to mention. Today was the day we arrived at our first port of call in Juneau. It was great to watch as we approached Juneau up the inlet this morning. When we docked, it was a little wet. We were a little concerned as we had a helicopter tour planned and we didn't know if we would be able to see anything, or if it would be running at all. ... adventure we had all been waiting for....Whale watching! Warm clothing, rain gear, cameras and binoculars....must haves for whale/wildlife watching. We will be touring the Mendenhall Glacier before heading to Auke Bay for the whale and wildlife excursion.

Mendenhall Glacier is just spectacular and easily viewed from land. It's one of 38 large glaciers that flow from the 1500 square mile expanse know as the Juneau Icefield. They say that the glacial ice appears ...

... Canadian border we spent more than 30 minutes at the glacier before motoring back towards our lodge. Along the way we stopped to drop off 12 women who were going to be kayaking for 5 days in the backcountry. Tyler and Sue helped unload their gear and Tyler counted 26 bear barrels! At the same beach we on boarded 10 more kayakers who had been camping for over a week. Alaskans love their nature!
