After haircuts in Amherst (a little short in Robert's case!) we drove the amazingly wide and deserted Canadian highway to St Andrews, where we stayed in a historic inn with the best bed we've had since getting off the ship.

... cliffs, and the "Hole in the Wall" campground had tent sites right on edge of the precipitous cliffs overlooking the bay! Beautiful but right on the very edge and very windy as well! The currents with the tide were interesting and we saw more minke whales, seals, harbor porpoises, and eagles along with the sea birds.

Day 8- Sailing and Whaling
Loved our visit to Acadia National Park but decided to try and experience some of Canada as well. It was a tough call, as you could easily spend the entire time at Acadia-so many things to see and do. The park rangers at Acadia were very kind and refunded our reservations for the extra nights with no problem. We will be coming back!

Day 6- Day trip to Campobello
We had glorious weather again today- sunny and 72 degrees. By the way, we have experienced NO deer flies or mosquitos which I understand are a scourge in the summer- September must be a great time to camp and hike in this area.
Yikes! Gas is up to $4.15 per gallon! We are really glad we are driving a little economy car and not in a truck pulling a travel trailer (an option we had been doing some thinking ...
