... we got to the venue, we had to get gas in Morrison, and while Dan was pumping, it started to rain, then hail! We weren't sure we'd actually get to the concert, but we decided to go for it. This time nostalgia trip for Brandi, bank where she worked still there 35 years later exactly the same, been shown her window (building not teller) where she used to look out of. From Des Moines, our journey took us west, through the rest of Iowa, across Nebraska, and into Colorado.
Iowa is very pretty, if a bit farmy. Lots of rolling hills, tons of green, corn everywhere, and landscapes dotted with little barns everywhere. Americana at its finest.
Nebraska, however, is anything but. There's literally nothing to look at. Flat, boring, depressing. Also, no cell service at all, so you can't even entertain yourself ...

... drive to Vail. Time went backwards by an hour.

Pleasantly surprised by our Holiday Club Accommodations. We had so much space, at least 4 others could've stayed with us; slept 6 and had 3 bathrooms. Nice king size bed, fireplace and kitchen facilities.
