... Time for an update- we have arrived successfully at our accommodation The Paper Factory in Long Island City, New York. I had my notes so we negotiated the subway and found it really easy, just follow the signs and follow your nose. Our accommodation is a renovation old factory and the decor is really quirky but the neighbourhood is a bit dodgy but we are really close to Manhattan via the subway. George Washington was inaugurated as the first President of the United States using this Masonic Bible which was borrowed from St John's Lodge No. 1, chartered under the Grand Lodge of the State of New York, F. & A.M.

Picked up my platinum *bling* badge the day before the festival kicked off. Felt good. Not having done any work I was already entitled to any festival viewing I wanted as well as free drinks in the 'registrants lounge'. Boom. ... joke between us that the people of Austin really needed to be more careful. :) Also, for being an upgraded room, some of the light fixtures were broken or falling apart. However, the bed was AMAZING! They are always great in Omni hotels, so I wasn't surprised, but just love sinking into them!
