... was very nice and knowledgeable and one of the other tour participants was a local girl who offered a lot of information about Kauai.
We went to a couple of points that look out over beaches on the East shore. I was not too impressed with the shots I got from these places. We also stopped at Kilauea Lighthouse. The lighting was much better at midday than it was in the morning when we visited before.
We stopped at Anahola ...
... explore. The textures were interesting and the view of the rocks and ocean was perfect. The rain had stopped and the sun was finally high enough in the sky that the water began to brighten to a beautiful turquoise. We avoided the water because Hanakapi'ai is not considered safe for swimming. By 9:45am the beach was starting to get crowded so we decided to head back.
The hike out from Hanakapi'ai is a lot harder than the hike in, or at least it ...
... for next week. It will be the last year of the time share and we will only have 2 weeks, but we can pay for additional time if wanted. We will not know for a few weeks if we will really get the time, but if not we have a couple of alternatives.
May 2nd, Thurdsay--A good night sleep for me but not for Phil. When we did get up, and it was early for us, we had a nice breakfast of oatmeal. Phil walked to our beach for a morning swim and I read ...
Well, this is it. Tomorrow we head home . . . a quick flight from Kauai to Honolulu . . . then, off to Vancouver . . . and, home. In many ways it's hard to believe 3 months has passed. But, it also feels like we've been gone a very long time!
Before I move on to packing, etc., a quick recap of our time here in Kauai.
We picked up a car for the week and headed ...
Today was all about snorkeling! Almost. We did stop in the town of Hanalei on our drive up - think of a Hawaiian hippies town and you pretty much have it. Quite cute though. Drove from there to . Tunnels beach (yes....same beach that Bethany Hamilton lost her arm). In the winter ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Inn Paradise Kapaa
If you would like a time in Heaven...
... just spend your vacation time at the Inn Paradise B & B with Major and Connie. We loved our 8 days at Inn Paradise, we stayed in the King Kaumualii Suite and it was lovely. We certainly plan to return and spend more time with the two of them. Loved it!

We love our time on Kauai your location is perfect. From hearing the parrots say "Hello and Aloha" (they sound like Connie), to the very friendly cats who were quite persistent in seeking attention. Both boys enjoyed playing with the cats and back gammon.
Luscious surroundings is how you describe Inn Paradise as you take the drive to the B&B and look over the back yard from the back porch. Very quiet and one can enjoy sounds of being in the jungle with all the birds.
There is no better place and people in Kauai
I wish to thank Major and Connie for the most hospitable time I have ever had (short of home with Mom on Christmas). The property is lovely, the proprietors are lovelier. This place is top of its class in comfort, ambience, and company.
There is even entertainment. Meet Major Inch, one of the most eccentric geniuses in the Pacific Ocean and beyond.
There is certainly class. Meet Connie Inch, one of the keenest and perceptive peple I have ever met.
Hope to see them both again.

Kauai is simply awesome! The Queen Kapule Suite Inn Paradise is simply the best equipped holiday apartment that I've seen! The best to Major & Connie, see you in Germany next time.
We Felt like Royalty......
What a wonderful week we had here!! It was so relaxing despite all the things we did and saw. The best part about our vacation was the location, it was perfect, half way between everthing. It was always nice at the end of an exhausting day to say "Let's go home." We felt like we were royalty staying in the Prince Kuhio suite. I truly believe that our vacation would not have been as nice or more memorable if we would have stayed anywhere else! Your little Secret Oasis here has been delightful. We loved the Ice Machine, perfect for filling the coolers.

We truly enjoyed the experience!
Major Inch is a lovely person who made our stay terrific. The grounds are awesome and the Prince Suite was everything we needed and more!
Thanks so very much for being such a gracious host. We've never stayed in a "Bed-n-Breakfast" before, but somehow I don't believe we will ever stay in one as unbelievably wonderful as yours! Your hospitality was greatfully welcomed. Ruby and I loved the immaculate yard (tropical garden), view of the mountains, and avians (birds) they were all wonderful. We truly enjoyed our anniversary on Kauai and you helped to make it special. We are sorry that we missed Connie but sure well meet her when we return (We couldn't possibly stay anywhere else now that we've experienced paradise!) When we retell our trip to Hawaii with friends, we'll certainly tell them not to miss the wonderful experience of staying at Inn Paradise. Mahalo & Aloha- May God bless your family & home.
