The weather sucked again today. Waves were choppy and flat on the East Side. Weather was rainy and overcast. My only adventure today consisted of a little exploration and some impromptu hiking at Moloaa Bay. Moloaa Bay is normally a very picturesque beach on the northeast side of the island. However, on this gloomy day it lacked much of it's allure. Interestingly, the pilot episode for Gilligan's Island was filmed here way back in 1964, but the episode filmed here never aired. ...
... br> To fill in the time between leaving Robbies and our next bed we went into the main town of Lihu'e. The other day I bought a GPS (we are charged $12 / day to rent one) so we returned it as we now have our own. Also bought a "backup" computer - Samsung Chromebook. Our tablet is our lifeline and if something goes wrong with it we have a problem.

... we went back out to HWY 56, just before Lihue we took Ma'alo Road (583) all the way to its end. Once again, parking was difficult to find, but luckily, we didn't have to wait long for a group to leave. (Most people just stop to look and take pictures of the falls. Few actually hike down so there are always people coming and going.) Thankfully, we had "The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook: Kauai Revealed," which we lovingly referred to as the Kauai Bible, because otherwise we never ...
... Luckily his pack broke his fall. He climbed back up onto the ledge and helped me across.
We made it back to the weir after 8 hours of punishing hiking. It was miserable and awesome all at the same time. I had multiple bruises and scratched and some tiny thorns in my hands. This trip was not about the views. The views are amazing, but not expansive. This hike was really about proving what your body can do. It was definitely the ...
... system of the boats, one was full of information and colorful tales, and one flashed his junk for over an hour of the trip seemingly unaware of it. The kayak trip requires you to be over 15 years old and to have the ability to paddle 10,000-20,000 times. Well, I thought I could but sheesh, who knows if they can do that until one is presented with the situation. I had been doing "power pump" class at the gym for several weeks as prep ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Inn Paradise Kapaa
If you would like a time in Heaven...
... just spend your vacation time at the Inn Paradise B & B with Major and Connie. We loved our 8 days at Inn Paradise, we stayed in the King Kaumualii Suite and it was lovely. We certainly plan to return and spend more time with the two of them. Loved it!

We love our time on Kauai your location is perfect. From hearing the parrots say "Hello and Aloha" (they sound like Connie), to the very friendly cats who were quite persistent in seeking attention. Both boys enjoyed playing with the cats and back gammon.
Luscious surroundings is how you describe Inn Paradise as you take the drive to the B&B and look over the back yard from the back porch. Very quiet and one can enjoy sounds of being in the jungle with all the birds.
There is no better place and people in Kauai
I wish to thank Major and Connie for the most hospitable time I have ever had (short of home with Mom on Christmas). The property is lovely, the proprietors are lovelier. This place is top of its class in comfort, ambience, and company.
There is even entertainment. Meet Major Inch, one of the most eccentric geniuses in the Pacific Ocean and beyond.
There is certainly class. Meet Connie Inch, one of the keenest and perceptive peple I have ever met.
Hope to see them both again.

Kauai is simply awesome! The Queen Kapule Suite Inn Paradise is simply the best equipped holiday apartment that I've seen! The best to Major & Connie, see you in Germany next time.
We Felt like Royalty......
What a wonderful week we had here!! It was so relaxing despite all the things we did and saw. The best part about our vacation was the location, it was perfect, half way between everthing. It was always nice at the end of an exhausting day to say "Let's go home." We felt like we were royalty staying in the Prince Kuhio suite. I truly believe that our vacation would not have been as nice or more memorable if we would have stayed anywhere else! Your little Secret Oasis here has been delightful. We loved the Ice Machine, perfect for filling the coolers.

We truly enjoyed the experience!
Major Inch is a lovely person who made our stay terrific. The grounds are awesome and the Prince Suite was everything we needed and more!
Thanks so very much for being such a gracious host. We've never stayed in a "Bed-n-Breakfast" before, but somehow I don't believe we will ever stay in one as unbelievably wonderful as yours! Your hospitality was greatfully welcomed. Ruby and I loved the immaculate yard (tropical garden), view of the mountains, and avians (birds) they were all wonderful. We truly enjoyed our anniversary on Kauai and you helped to make it special. We are sorry that we missed Connie but sure well meet her when we return (We couldn't possibly stay anywhere else now that we've experienced paradise!) When we retell our trip to Hawaii with friends, we'll certainly tell them not to miss the wonderful experience of staying at Inn Paradise. Mahalo & Aloha- May God bless your family & home.
