So I read a silly article on Facebook about the one thing that'll make you better in social situations. Long story short the answer is listening. I think that and my incessant question asking has been the key to my traveling success. He says that people love talking about themselves so they appreciate it when you listen to them talk about themselves. This may be true. I like to talk about myself and what I'm doing, but the key is to give others the chance to do so as ...
... to pick up our rental car. We thought it would be fun to rent a convertible to drive up the coast but Eric was worried about messing up his hair so we went with an SUV. That ended up being a smart choice as there is much more leg room and we'll be spending hours in the car. We met Eric's brother Andrew and his girlfriend Ruth out for dinner at Mastro's in Malibu. A few more drinks at a Figeroa Mnt, then off to Maverick Saloon--- thank goodness for a non drinker- DD. Dancing and ...

Anyway, we laid for a couple of hours, sweating profusely and occasionally dipping ourselves in the sea. The beach was nice, but the water was full of seaweed which wrapped itself ...
... Anyway, it was soon time to get off and go band to the apartment to make some dinner. Santa Barbara is a lovely place. It has a lovely combination of a small town, seaside feel with the liveliness and modem feel of a city, with plentiful shops and restaurants. It's a really cool place with lots of quirky stores with a hippy vibe. We like this city, and it's simplicity and central conveniences make it even more ...
