      ... up to the top for people with handicaps so we were able to drive and park at the top. That "crippled sign" comes in handy sometimes! We put our name in for a table and before long we were seated at a counter overlooking one of the joys beautiful sights I have ever seen. Doug says it rivals Sedona, I agree!       ... tell her clients, "Happy wife, happy life." How'd she get so wise? We arrived at Santa Barbara at about 1pm and easily found the Lavender Inn where we are staying ($238). Our room wasn't ready yet but the lovely Iris at reception helpfully upgraded us to a 2 room suite and gave us some maps and tips for how to fill in time until our 3pm checkin.       ... Pirate was telling us about where she worked up in the mountains on a farm. The farm was on the territory of a mountain lion which she had regular encounters with, so many that she even gave her a name, Karen!
