      ... sandy, rocky and hot....much more bleak and with less vegetation the Joshua Tree.. Met a nice couple from Victoria on the hike. We were finished by noon and drove to Shields Date farmed Garden in Indio. Other than taste testing some of the yummy dates it was a touristy place and we didn't stay long. We found a great Deli at Bristol Farms on Monterey and Country Club and bought salads etc for ...

      ... in a glass bottle and just about any Route 66 knick knack you can imagine. We then drove into Oatman which is a ghost town with plenty of gift shops and a whole bunch of wild burros left over from when Oatman was a mining town (gold). They aren't very wild though because they will eat right out of your hand. And the bags of burro food are available for sale at the gift shops, where else?

      ... this morning. I went shopping. Rushed back to the hotel to register for my conference / retreat and had a Buffett dinner. We listened to a motivational speech from Leeza Gibbons who I think is popular in the states, we all received her new signed book and had one on one time with her, this was really nice. Tomorrow morning we are up REALLY early for classes!! Can't wait!!!!! Hope everyone is well! ...
