      ... were we didn't let it spoil our night and indeed we had stumbled on a secret war between hotel and an interloping fish eaterie. Also it was fab for people watching for two reasons - firstly we could see, from our table the look of dismay on new arrivals who had obviously spoken to Patty earlier and secondly we marvelled at the fashion statements made by some of the other diners and speculated that most of them must have booked ...

      ... a latte in the courtyard. It was not quite as warm today...just 25 or so. Then we had a beer at a touristy Mexican restaurant...Las Conzeulas Terraza .....not exciting so we stopped for a great pizza at Michaels at The River... Then back to the hotel for a soak in the hot tub and now we are enjoying the warm evening on the balcony and sipping a glass of Kim Crawford..still partially cloudy but we hope to get up early tomorrow and hike up at The Thousand Palms ...

      I came into Palm Desert annoyed but was still set in awe when I crossed the Arizona California Border. For the past week, I've been dealing with ants and plenty of them. I had to ant proof my camper and soon as there was no sign of them there, an ant army began to invade the truck through the air vents as the AC blasted me in this awfully hot weather.       ... a total of 6 different trails, probably from 2-4 different leopards) and leopard scat. That was quite incredible, knowing that we were walking along side of a regular trail for leopards, Africa’s most B.A. predators (yup, they even top lions folks).

      ... zig zagging their way toward ‘the man’. Thanks to the long wait, I was a few hours late in renting the car and so hit the famed traffic jams of LA. Luckily, I was able to use the HOV lane – high occupancy in LA being defined as ‘2 or more’ people. So, we got into our house in Palm Desert quite late, after a very long day.
