      ... the mountain. Eventually weaving through an area with a lot more vegetation, slightly jungle-like but without the heat. We took our packs off for a bit in order to get a little squirrly on a a mini boulder problem. It was slightly sketchy especially in hiking boots but it was so nice to touch real rock again...:)

      Our next pit stop was along the trail when Bryan heard rustling in a bush. He declared it a bear (more likely a squirrel) ...

      ... on a plane to travel to Leeds. That is, 3 layover and a total of 18.5 hours later.       Year 2, Day 113 - Today Nick and I visited the town of Henderson, NC. This town sits among the Blue Ridge Mountains at 2,200 feet above sea level. It is a picturesque and quaint town with lots of diversity. I understand that as far back as 100 years ago, people favored this area for retirement (instead of Florida), because it offered all 4 seasons, along with temperate winters.
