... at the restaurant, we walked through the center of Sorrento to get there. The buses could not get very close to it since it is on a small side street. On the way to the restaurant, our guide stopped at an old doorway right on one of the busiest lanes and said that it was his house. He surprised us by pulling out his key, unlocking the door, and inviting us in. We walked into the vestibule of an apartment building with high ceilings ...

... coke. It was then down to the concert in the church piazza where the band played Fantasia. It was a very enjoyable night had by the castaways and very nice to be here at festival time.

With a 1/3 of city out of work, there are a number of people who are in the "non-gainfully employed" professions. "Watch out for pickpockets and gypsies," is what we hear. We do eventually find the Circumvesuviana train line after some searching, buy our tickets, and make the next one with about a minute to spare.

... happened upon an amazing family-run Kebab restaurant and brought it back to the apartment for a relaxed end to a chill-out kind of day.

We aimed for an early bedtime as tomorrow we are off for a day trip to Pompeii. Fingers crossed for continued good weather (today was clear sunny skies and high of 24C) as we venture across the Meditterean to this ancient city with such an interesting archeological history.
