With a 1/3 of city out of work, there are a number of people who are in the "non-gainfully employed" professions. "Watch out for pickpockets and gypsies," is what we hear. We do eventually find the Circumvesuviana train line after some searching, buy our tickets, and make the next one with about a minute to spare.

... drive from Sorrento and the area is very quiet; it is an excellent base for those who like walking along some of the marked trails and routes around the local area and the beach.

Today we said goodbye to some of the people that were here for only a week, there was a small "graduation" ceremony for them consisting of a "diploma" and much clapping and fan fare from all! I guess more students will be joining us next week.

It is really hard to believe I've been gone for a week, it has gone by really fast, though I have a feeling the next week will be slower with looking forward ...

... an actual tour guide showing a couple around and listened in until he lead us to a display in the orc*********** where casts of village people who were caught in the lava were displayed. I had been told previously that most artifacts had been removed from the site and placed in a museum in Naples. This proved correct and all that is now within the site is remains of buildings. These remains date back 2000 years to BC and I believe were preserved by the molten lava before ...

... us how the different types of lemons, one type that grows as big as your head but is all skin and hardly any flesh, then showed us how they use every piece of the lemon to make something edible. We got to try two different types of limoncello. One was straight and the other was creamy. I preferred the creamy one. The straight one burnt my throat as I sipped it and stung my eyes when the cup was close to my mouth, that's how potent it was!
