... to the only restaurant within walking distance the night before, La Torre, and had ordered what we thought would be an appetizer plate for us all to share. It turned out that each appetizer in the selection was voluminous for each of us to have as a whole appetizer, and there were - no kidding - 10 different appetizers in the whole order. ... night each table had 10 servings of different plates of food. Us girls were literally rolling out of there by the end.

It was served as a traditional Italian dinner and the food was amazing but way too much. The plan was to head out for cocktails after, but after an attempt we just couldn’t fit a cocktail in and needed to lay down. Jess and I with a few of the other girls caught the bus back to the camping ground and took our food babies to bed.

... a bed shared by the family, stables for the horses, a makeshift kitchen etc.. At this time they were the longest continually habituated places in the world! It was then that the town was moved to a 'new-new town' on the hills as there was much disease within the sassi (they had an amazing water capturing system but the sewerage system wasn't 'modern' to say the least).
