On Friday I came back to Catania, mainly as a link to get to Naples, and partly because I wanted to be in the town for the weekend, and see it from a slightly different point of view than last time.

The place I am staying in is more like a b&b than a hostel, which has gone through some refurbishment meaning that there is no use of a kitchen, or laundry and no breakfast unless I pay a little extra. The room was comfy enough though and the staff are lovely.

We are on a train for most of the day so need to stock up. Just on the freezer bags, I had a peek into M-L's pack the other day, once I got past the four jumpers / jackets (now only three as one sent back to London) I swear I saw the kitchen sink in there as well! My pack @ 9.5 kg, Maddie @ ...

Catania - at last

... the middle of the city, and took a walk to the famous Catania markets. These are the biggest we've seen yet, they must cover three or four city blocks, huge... As usual though, everything tends to shut down around 1pm, so we headed back to the hotel for our own siesta. At around 7pm we ventured out again and found a nice Trattoria for dinner overlooking another quaint ...
