... around 70-72 F . We decided to drive up the coast to Crystal River. On TV this am it said it was the prettiest retirement community in Florida. And so it is ....We wanted to see manatees but were without luck....they winter in the rivers huddled close together but at this time if year they are dispersing along the rivers...will try again!
The park also is a site of an ancestral native burial ground with a large interpretive center.
Not a lot to report today as once again we chose to relax ahead of the next few days which are likely to be a bit "full on".
After a leisurely breakfast we took a short drive down the coast to see the Trade Winds Resort where we stayed in 1992 our first visit to Florida. Memory can play tricks, but it is much bigger than when we stayed there and the area around it seems more built up. That's progress I suppose. ...

... 8211; such silly animals and very fun to watch because they just watch you right back. We also saw two groups of flamingos one fluoro orange (apparently Carribean Flamingos or something) and the other the normal light pink which we expected.
The first roller coaster turned out to be the most stomach-churning one in the park. It basically took you very high, then over a lip so that you dangled your feet. Then ...
... if anyone ever gets the chance or the opportunity to go on any kind of a safari, do not question it, just go. You will thank me!
Random African observations:
There are a surprising number of hitchhikers here. While on the road to and from Kruger and again around Cape Town, we just saw tons and tons of hitchhikers. It just seems so strange coming from the US where there are very few hitchhikers and I have never picked one up.
