... around 70-72 F . We decided to drive up the coast to Crystal River. On TV this am it said it was the prettiest retirement community in Florida. And so it is ....We wanted to see manatees but were without luck....they winter in the rivers huddled close together but at this time if year they are dispersing along the rivers...will try again!

... 8211; such silly animals and very fun to watch because they just watch you right back. We also saw two groups of flamingos one fluoro orange (apparently Carribean Flamingos or something) and the other the normal light pink which we expected.

The first roller coaster turned out to be the most stomach-churning one in the park. It basically took you very high, then over a lip so that you dangled your feet. Then ...

... if anyone ever gets the chance or the opportunity to go on any kind of a safari, do not question it, just go. You will thank me!

      Random African observations:

There are a surprising number of hitchhikers here. While on the road to and from Kruger and again around Cape Town, we just saw tons and tons of hitchhikers. It just seems so strange coming from the US where there are very few hitchhikers and I have never picked one up.
