I am officially a leaf peeper! That is somebody who travels around just to look at the autumn leaves. And they have been fairly spectacular, although not quite at their peek. They have web sites dedicated to the changing of the leaves and it all depends on the weather. They have had a mild autumn so far, so the leaves are a little late

Not wanting to waste a moment, I reconned the best things to do in Newport, and drove us out to Bellevue Ave to visit "The Breakers", former holiday home of the Vanderbilts. This area is home to some of the most magnificent mansions of the Gilded Age, jaw-droppingly gorgeous creations of awesomeness. Newport is costal town to the south of Boston which used to hold the one of
the most prestigious sailing races, the America Cup.

We had actually visited Newport previously on the trip on the way from
Providence. Tamsin showed us the wonderful cliff walk which is
nestled between the ocean and the mansions of Newport. These were
built by the super rich of the 20th century and are modelled on
    English mansions ...
