      ... from the dodgiest park full of drug dealers! After dark we got our halloween on and walked around a pumpkin display thingy held at the zoo. As you'd expect it was very americanised with **** loads of snack stalls. We tried some 'pumpkin spiced ale' which neither tasted of pumpkin or spice but was festive! The carved pumpkins certainly rivalled my 'here's Johnny' from last year! Last but not least...on to ...

      ... through the gate more than once he would not graduate and if a girl did it she would not get married. Obviously these were really old (and sexist) superstitions but I wonder how many people avoid that gate anyways. We spent the evening in a McDonalds using their wifi and managed to only get a coffee.       Newport, Rhode Island has been the scene of many Australian 12 metre yachting disappointments, starting with Gretel way back in 1962, until Australia II's ultimate triumph in winning the America's Cup in 1983!


      Australia II's last minute win ended sport's longest running cup defence - when the America's Cup, held by the New York Yacht Cub for 132 years, was finally lost to an Australian challenger!
