I found black pants to wear at the front gate (an errant dryer a month ago shrunk my second pair), a beautiful Indian print shawl, make-up, four books, a new-to-me purse, and a rainbow visor complete with LED lights that work. :) John found a sturdy black briefcase to use for walkaround, a book, and some foundation that will work in a pinch since he's low on make-up ...
... probably about 2-3 miles. Nice walk, and nice area. Lots of potential and as Dick read in TripAdvisor, not as much action on River Walk. There are a few restaurants and bars, but mostly the backside of buildings. We stopped a few people to get directions and advice. One gentleman told us about the Third Ward where there were some restaurants and bars! The Third Ward is about a block off the River Walk.
Saw the Pedal Tavern, just like Cincinnati's Pedal Wagon. And, guess ...
... the sandy bottom for most of the race. It was also very shallow even 25 yards off shore. We had a great swim day with little wave action. I also decided to take off my wetsuit in the water which also affected my swim time. I have never used the wetsuit strippers. I don't like to get all sandy laying on the ground while they pull it off. Transition was smooth and the bike was great. Flat, some rollers and the roads were not as bad as people had said. Yum Yum...went back to Kelvin's uncles and then out for food and drinks in the evening, lots of fun, but got back late and was exhausted.

... Unfortunately, it didn't work, but a designer/engineer/garden friend of mine, Andor, stopped by to check it out, and so the past few days I've been repairing this contraption. We think the valves located at the bottom of each cylinder have become blocked up with rust and are now not creating enough suction. SOME water pumps through, but not enough and not at a high enough pressure. I plugged up both ports with saran wrap and rubber bands and let the cylinders soak, ...
