It was not quite daylight when we departed and there was some fog due to warming temperatures (a balmy 50 degrees) as well as some drizzle. While we had hoped for clear weather, we gladly settled for warmer temperatures.The first lock down went smoothly with no waiting. ... The ice chest can go back to it's original duty now. They did have a little bit of overheating in the locks, but they are old pros at this now. They have decided that they can finish the trip without having to find a marina with a lift to change ...

I zoomed in past the mat of vegetation and trees to the bluffs on the main river channel. We turned left there and were right outside the next lock. The lock master was waiting for us when we arrived and we went right through.

Continuing on downriver we passed some bald eagles in the trees. Looked like the two together was an adult and juvenile.
