... in the lead.

It was not quite daylight when we departed and there was some fog due to warming temperatures (a balmy 50 degrees) as well as some drizzle. While we had hoped for clear weather, we gladly settled for warmer temperatures.The first lock down went smoothly with no waiting. Our new friends were good about calling the lockmasters ahead of time to check on barge traffic and general conditions, something we intend to do in the future. At ...

... allowed us to photograph his beautiful red truck. We reached starkville at 10:00 pm and visited with Maria and Ismael, friends from Spain. Maria is going through a veterinary neurology residency at Mississippi State. She had made arrangements for us to spend the night at a local equestrian subdivision. Quince had a huge round pen with lots of grass and we slept in the horse trailer. Looking forward to having breakfast with Maria and Ismael in the am. Plan to head to Arkansas ...
