... on 2 April - their low key approach mirrored our experiences with Easy Jet in Europe - friendly, good service, free bags and reasonable price. Highly recommended. Austin provided an immediate improvement in April temperatures - suddenly we were breaking out the t-shirts, and enjoying dinner and coffee outdoors - it has actually cooled in the last day or two, and a bit grey - but temperatures forecast to keep rising.

With New Orleans in the rearview mirror we headed towards Austin, TX, one of the cities I was most excited about before beginning our adventure. The first hour of the drive was pretty cool, traveling over mile after mile of swampy bayou, but the remaining seven were pretty dull. ... was craving salad, so got a Greek salad...yum! We went back to our hotel for a rest before our night on the town. Austin is supposed to have great live music venues all over town, so we preferred to do that than wander the city all day. Before we went out the hotel was hosting a free 'evening compliments' hour, where we got free food and wine/beer for 2 hours! This was therefore our dinner and pre-drinks! Nice! ...
