Die Aussicht auf die Stadt ist lohnenswert und mein Ego war gluecklich.
Am Nachmittag habe ich mich dann mit Kerensa und Peter in der Stadt getroffen.
Ich habe mich wahnsinnig darauf gefreut, da mir Kerensa sehr ans Herz gewachsen ist.
Obwohl sie doch 7 Jahre juenger ist, verstanden wir uns praechtig und haben die ganzen drei Wochen viel unternommen. Somit ein tolles Finale in Vancouver.
Als Ueberraschung sind sie dann mit mir als unangemeldete Begleitung ...
... done it in 25 minutes! After walking the first quarter, I fail to see how they ran up it in 25 minutes! We were knackered! Thankfully the day was cooler than the day before, the mercury hitting 24 mid morning, the path was also well shaded by the forest but the incline was demanding and by the time we reached the top our legs were aching! Having said that it was really enjoyable and I was happy out walking again!
Another beautiful day and another afternoon of rest and relaxation ...
... from Vancouver to Seattle. This is about a 4.5 hour trip so we went at our leisure and picked up some extra sights along the way. In Vancouver we traveled through famed Stanley Park. Oh my. With all the rain and mild temperatures they have in this city, this must be one of the greenest place in the world. Just beautiful. It is near downtown and is larger than NYC's Central Park. ... people, whose chief was Joe Capilano ( not his traditional name, obviously, but one the whites had given him). It began as a hemp and wooden plank affair stretched across the 140 metre gorge, 70 metres above the rushing Capilano River in 1889. From here, it became a popular spot for a dedicated group of locals to picnic. They definitely had to make a day of it, as they had to catch a boat across the harbour, then walk or ride in an uncomfortable horse drawn buggy ...
Here, in Canada, “Saint Nicholas” came 2 times and I want to say thanks to the 2 little souls that made my day so special!
One of the wonderful events of this month has been skating in Robson Square. The town hall arranged such a beautiful free skating night with Christmas lights and atmosphere, a live band singing in the background and dancing spirits twirling on the ice!
