... beef. The valley quickly widened and became heavily farmed with a number of very big dairy farms some of the few we had seen during the rest of the trip. There were a number of other crop farms. We also saw several chicken farms and a mushroom farm. My assumption is this whole farming industry supports Vancouver which was about 80 miles away when the farming started. It continued right up to the suburbs of Vancouver.

... school holidays, so there was no possibility of being able to stretch out at all. Neither of us slept much, but enjoyed the movies - John recording 7 watched!
Arriving at Vancouver on Monday 29 about 5.15pm we were greeted by a very excited Mikayla, jumping up and down, shouting Ma & Pa, Ma & Pa! It was so good to see them all. They have a view from their balcony, directly back to Vancouver, a great spot close to transport ...

... The night markets had many appealing food offerings. But the couple of times we sat down with the Nee's, we really did not appreciate the environment - if it were not with them, Bob and I definitely would not have sat down to eat. The various "old streets" did not seem to offer as much variety of stuff (aside from food) as the markets I visited in China.

... prop, 50 seater and surprise to everyone (including me) the flight was actually fun and we had some great views. Maybe because we were only 20,000 feet above ground I could really see the ground so felt more connection to terra firma :)) We were even able to see Mount Egmont in all its glory which apparently isn't something that is often seen since it is often shrouded in heavy cloud cover. Finally arrived in Blenheim at 9:30 exactly on ...

I cannot believe what I came home to today.. Waiting just beside the front door of my apartment, was that bloody advent calendar from Alex that I have been chasing half way around Vancouver and back again!

This bloody thing has been to more places in Canada than I have! It does look a little worse for wear, none of the chocolates were behind the windows but instead were decoratively scattered ...
