    ... to Hvar, and served up our first lunch meal - a two course extravaganza, firstly beautiful soup and salad, fresh bread with olive oil, and a lovely main - throughout the week we get to try a range of traditional Croatian meals, including grilled fish, apricot chicken and pasta dishes, apparently the Croatian's have quite an Italian influence in their cooking - yum.

    After the Cathedral we walked into the main square and considered (for a millisecond) the loooong set of steps leading waaay up to the Spanish Fortress on top of the "hill" ( rtica).     ... Croatian house furnished in the traditional way and where we got to taste the local "grappa" flavoured with different fruit - I loved the fig so bought a small bottle. Last stop was a winery where we were able to taste the white, red and desert wines. I skipped the white and red and just tasted the desert wine which was really good. Back to the boat for a break of an hour and then it was dinner - tonight a traditional Dalmatian meal (we are in the area of Dalmatia) ...

    What wonderful islands we have visited and Hvar is no exception. Hvar town boasts a safe harbour naturally protected by a string of islands where boats often sought refuge.     ... everywhere. It rivaled Mykonos for the amount of stray and sick cats just walking the streets. August 6th: Very slow morning this morning, with no swim stop scheduled till after lunch, which killed us all. The combination of the hangovers and bruising from the cliff jumps, meant all we wanted to do was relax in the water.
