    So much love was flowing toward Betsey. The only reasonable explanation is she must have had a long and illustrious career of growing it in others and then reveling in it come harvest time. I pictured her and Scott having a well-oiled screen door as all the neighborhood kids ran in and out to absorb hugs, cookies, and dog pets ...

    ... big lake, could just be coastline if you didn’t know it was a lake, not worthy of a picture though). The goal for my time in Chicago was to have a deep-dish pizza, something I succeeded in whole-heartedly. Fortunately there was a ‘Lou Malnatis’ round the corner from where we were staying (our host told us, it was THE deep dish pizza place in Chicago) and I was not disappointed. There was a one-hour wait for eating in and it was worth it, yum yum ...

    ... while I use one of the many empty Rebooking phones. Rep answered quickly, but 25 min and a seriously confused rep later I found myself back in line. Even though San Jose flights were available, they could not get our luggage switched. We had no choice but to wait for the 6pm flight to Liberia. Plans of an afternoon hike or evening in the volcanic hot springs scratched.

    Given the 7 hr delay, I tried to negotiate a day pass to Admirals club($50 value)...no go, instead the agent ...
