      ... all sold out, though probably was a god-send as he mentioned he never got in until 6am from the previous night. He opted to go see a UFC fight at a sports bar and Tam and I donned our ‘festival’ best gear (a Playa del Carmen tank-top / fedora hat for me and a newly purchased see-through dress and bikini for Tam) and off we went.

      ... the disco and, like true Canadian tourists, headed straight to the bar. There were all kinds of bottles I had never seen before, and people around were downing drinks of every color you can imagine. Someone nearby was holding one that I'd never seen - the bottom layer was purple and the top layer was bright blue. I asked him what it was.

      "A superman!" he said, really enthusiastically.

      ... out of the perfectly clear blue waters. It was completely idyllic but sadly it wasn't for long enough. We had to get the 5pm ferry back to the mainland to catch our connecting bus in time to make it to our awaiting beach bungalows in Tulum, a town further down the coastline of Mexico.       ... dive was a lot less scary than I had expected it to be, and extremely peaceful. Most of the fish were sleeping under the protection of corals. Unfortunately we didn't see too much, but we did get to see a few octopi, eel, and at the very end, as I was ascending, someone had spotted a HUGE crab.
