      ... saying.... Ohhh your eyes are turquoise! I never noticed before.. very nice! I was not sure if he was hitting on me or trying to make up for his previous rudeness. Either way it was very strange.

      We rode along for about 40 minutes and finally arrived at our hotel. I noticed on the drive that they have signs about every 100 meters on the roads. Signs for different parks, cenotes, hotels and more. I've never seen so many signs before.

      ... them. Adam's fajitas lacked any kind of spice and were sided by some unidentifiable grey chunks that looked like offal. They were tasteless and mushy, and the whole plate was swamped in a sauce that smelled like damp laundry. Not quite the experience we were hoping for but we were glad we tried it, if nothing else it made us appreciate our trusty 'Old El Paso' even more.

      The weather was so hot and the beach sand was like warm talcum powder, white and silky ...

      ... glimpses of the cave systems going deeper into the earth.

      Maria was snorkeling in the outer caverns whilst David was diving. Even being on the surface the view of the formations under water was out of this world and deepness of the color blue was amazing. Inside there was some beautiful birds that had similar colors to the kingfisher, but were about 2-3 times the size. Being a cave, bats were present too.

      ... it was dark when we reached the island. The luggage was taken separately we got on so we had to wait at a carousel to retrieve it, but it didn't take long. From the terminal we walked the five minutes to our hotel the Vista Del Mar in San Miguel which to our surprise was ocean front. When Mike booked it he said it was in the town. When we checked in we were even more pleased to find out we had an ocean view room. When the man at reception said 'ocean front room?' ...

      ... is one of the restaurants included in our package. It was pretty good. It started to rain during dinner so we had to hide under a huge umbrella at our favorite beach bar after dinner.

      So far we are really enjoying our time here in Playa Del Carmen.

      ******There will be turtle pictures added later. They are on a CD and this little computer I brought along does not have a CD drive in it so I will have to add those when we get home.
