    ... on a number of levels dating from different periods in its history. The local tourist board has spent serious money here and it's a great experience. Michael, an IT student at Bratislava university working the summer, is very knowledgable and enthusiastic.

    ... Lovely room, excellent restaurant and 50 metres from the castle ticket office. A no-brainer. We check in for two nights and order a beer on the terrace.



    The bikes are round the back, in a private car park secured by a chain at night, and the decking above them is the terrace bar. We sit and sup and gaze up at the castle 80 metres above us.

    Tomorrow we go see what all the fuss is about.

    ... we got to the cave. He warned us it would be very difficult and slippery so those who didn't think they could do it should stay back and wait. We all went. In order to get into the cave we had to climb up a ladder. Then there was a chain bolted to the cave walls that we could hold onto and pull ourselves up. I couldn't believe how hard it was because there weren't any foot holes and it was wet. When i got in there all I could think of was, **** I really wish I had ...

    ... After about 2 hours, we found the mountain house where we could use the bathroom and get snacks. That sure was a welcome sight! Since it was only about 11, I just had hot chocolate and apple cake. It was delicious.
