It was great to relax, but it really was time to move, and leave for South America. After a final goodbye to Luna, we headed out the gate a tick before 8:30am to see our Montezuma Expeditions shuttle bus already waiting to take us to Alajuela for two nights before flying out to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We picked up a few other travellers on the …
Well, my early morning, as soon as the cock crows, plan didn't really go as planned. We woke up at about 8AM, had a great breakfast at the B&B, lounged a bit, then finally committed to the start of our adventures at about 10AM.
Our breakfast was a great start to a beautiful sunny day. White clouds dotting a perfectly blue sky, with a …
After more than 14 hours of flying and waiting in transit, we finally made it to San Jose Juan Santamaria International airport at 12 midnight. And wouldn't you know it, even at this hour of the morning, touts were there to welcome you. We stayed for two nights at this hotel. The breakfast was amazing! Fresh fruit and eggs prepared however you would like them, all done in table service style. The bed was reasonably comfortable and the ceiling fan worked well. Two out of the three showers I had there were cold, but hey you get that sometimes. The town of Alajuela was great! So many shoe shops and fantastic bakeries. Not touristy at all as I think most people chose to stay in San Jose. We've stayed in Alajuela and San Jose and we will stay in Alajuela every time from now on.
