    ... reminders of days gone by. The scenery around even this main tourist part is just lovely, huge mountains coming down to the lake with colourful houses and interesting buildings all along the shores. It's easy to see that the lake came about as a result of an old glacier that had carved its way through the mountains.
    We peeked inside yet another amazing old cathedral and couldn't get over the size of the two organs along with the alter, stained glass, ...

    Thank you for all your comments about the blog but we haven't quite finished yet! Still about 24 hours before we'll be on our doorsteps, a whole city still to explore and at least one more blog post!     Been very busy last couple of days - just had time to catch up and I am a few days behind. We drove up to the local car ferry in Trezzamo The ferry was quick, we drove on and sat on the top deck for 10 minutes.     ... and he kept insisting that it was free and trying to put it on me. I shouldn't have let him, but I finally did. As soon as it was on, he wanted "money for Africa, waka waka Africa." I walked away. The only good thing to come from this was that the rest of the day, whenever somebody else tried to pull the same ****, I just raised my wrist to show I already had.

    First stop – Milan. A trouble free flight from Melbourne via Doha (Qatar) brings us to Italy's 2nd largest city – much of which was destroyed by Allied bombing in WWII.
