... water broadens out into Bundefiord, stands Oslo, a fine city in a magnificent location. Round it rise the heights of Ekeburg, Holmenkollen and Grefsenkollen. Broad streets, gardens, and handsome buildings make Oslo one of the finest cities of the north.

We boarded the hop-on, hop-off bus at the cruise terminal stop which has Akershus Fortress and Castle right above, on the other side of the road, and were taken on an unforgettable trip. There is so much to admire ...

It rained hard all night and it was still pouring down in the morning. I got up at nine and decided it was not worth moving on, nothing would be dry when I packed and my biking gear would be soaking when I arrived at my next site. The washing I had done with such great optimism last night was still soaking wet. Hopefully it would brighten up later, but at at the moment it does not ...

The E4 was as boring as ever, slowly meandering from left to right and up and down through forest, farm, rivers and lakes, a lot of which was hidden behind trees.
The sun tried to show but just failed. I stopped on the E4 for fuel, coffee and a cake just before the 84 turn off.

What a change! ends and hills with all the other views thrown in, brilliant biking country. Not only that there were fewer towns and villages, nothing ...

... but mostly wet), except snow. We were driving the E45, shown on our map as a scenic major route. Unfortunately for us it was undergoing major road widening and upgrading work so we were glad to turn off it mid-afternoon to head down a peninsula that juts 20 miles into the lake.

So there you have it, from start to finish, i hope you liked it, if you made it to the end. For me, it was another trip i enjoyed every second! The Philippines for me were awesome, the people we met, the times we had, the places we visited, everything!
