The more Mary and I explored Verona the more surprises we found. As I mentioned last time we had both been craving sushi for several days so we decided to try a restaurant called "Ikai", which after a lot of research seemed to garner nothing but really good reviews. All of the research we did said that reservations were recommended so we made ours at 7:30, early by Italian standards but we didn’t know if sushi ran on a different timetable. First day in Vicenza. Hard to believe I know but we had a sleep in & even lazed about in the sun in the Villa gardens - not such a bad place to be. Some really cool models of Palladio's works, and even one in the making of Il Redentore. Palladio's emphasis ...

After our big day yesterday we slept in - to 10am! The shutters were so good that we were in total darkness, and with no street nearby we had complete quiet. What bliss.

We decided that today would be our Vicenza museum day, as we had a free ticket to all the main museums from Tuesday.

First up was Pinacoteca Civica di Palazzo Chievicati, which was ...

... you could add "Valley of Pain" to the play list. I only wish I could send you the Mac album but I haven't figured out how to do that yet. Imagine my surprise when I tried to transfer the entire finished product and it didn't work. Transferring and editing these pictures from my slide show to Travel Pod one by one has been a real character builder. Sort of like remodeling. Not quite as I imagined and it took 3 times longer than I thought it would. Enjoy. ...
