Cittadella was originally founded in the 13th Centuary as a military outpost of Padua. The surrounding wall has been restored & has four gates into the town at roughly the points of a compass. We got there around 1pm & it was virtually deserted - of course the Italians close up for lunch / making little Italians between 1-3pm & we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Everyone on our bus was super nice and we were having a good time by the time we reached Italy. I already have the names of 2 restaurants to try out before we leave Vicenza - can't wait.
