Dan owned a 30ft yacht in the marina and had sailed it from Panama to Brittany in France and then through Frances canal system to the Med. He was now sailing south to Spain. He was extremely friendly and generous, almost immediately offering us to use his bicycles to check out the town and surrounding area. We declined as we had already planned to do a hike up to another fort on a hill above the town, so he ...
... front of it. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays (and from December 21 till June). Never mind we didn't have a reservation, anyhow.
We drove back to Roses and found that a very strong northerly wind had developed, blowing sand everywhere. W ate lunch in a restaurant in the middle of the town well away from the more popular touristy areas near the waterfront, and had the Menu of the Day- 3 courses and all delicious for a mere €12 – a little ...
When we returned to L'Escala after a day in Barcelona, we went in search of a restaurant for dinner (it was only 10.30 after all and diners were just arriving). Although L’Escala has a lot of shops, many only open during the high season – however there seemed to be quite a few restaurants so we headed to one on the waterfront where we had pizzas (Milly’s was an interesting seafood combination including mussels still in their shells ...

I decided to take a little vacation from my vacation and work on my tan here in Cadaques. The sea, the sun and village wandering take up most of my time. I´m scheduled to leave here on Monday, but once I realized I could do whatever I wanted, life changed. Maybe that is my inspiration. Como un sueño.
... a nearby town called Empuribrava, had some tapas for lunch (as you do), mingled with the millionaires and decided we would rather have Daisy than any of the Ferraris, Porshes or Mercedes that we saw (yeh right!!) The town is lovely, there's a sort of canal system runs through it and all the houses are set on the edge of the water with the yachts moored right outside! See ya soon - off to check the premium bond numbers now .....!
Roses, Spain signsoflife... candy. I was sure what this was going to be. Sheep cheese with sheep's wool and jelly. Sheep's wool. What could this possibly be? Well, I'll tell you. I've never had cheese "wool" before but however they did it, it was fantastic. For dessert, we had what they called an Egg Shell. Translation: coconut ...
