The lodge is set in a lovely garden at the foot of a hill. There is no vehicle access but the lodge can send down a bike with a trailer to assist in transporting luggage.
Our room was large and clean, it was very quiet.
The WiFi only worked in the lobby and dining room. The breakfast was substantial, the usual plus eggs cooked to order. We had one dinner there, both ordering the lentil quinoa burgers which were very good.
The staff were pleasant though often seemed preoccupied.

The power went out a couple of times, as well as the hot water. I think this place has infrastructure issues. They need to pour some resources into refreshing the aging building. Otherwise, I think the place is nice, although the location is a little offbeat.

          Those Fit Incans

Ollantaytambo had us from the very start. The narrow cobblestone streets with fast moving water streaming down the "ditch" alongside, the 2 ruinas and the hiking charmed us both. We wished we had longer than 2 nights to stay here.

I had a new respect for the Incans, they lived and worked hard at this high altitude, quarried huge boulders …

Upon arriving at Lima airport, Deb decided to try her luck at 'Lost & Found'. Remarkably, she was told that 3 phones had been handed in from yesterday's Iquitos flight and hers was one of them. She was so overjoyed that she gave the stunned airport employee a bear hug. Even her credit card and cash were recovered! Unfortunately, Wilson had …

First of all a very Merry Christmas to everyone back home. We hope you all had a great day. Ours started by waking up and going for some breakfast before opening our presents off each other. After we opened our excellently wrapped presents and put the napkins in the bin we went to the kitchen to try and make a "Christmas Crispy Cake" which would've been perfect except the white chocolate we were sold at the market turned out to be extremely ...
